Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello - I have a new to me 1999 996 cab that is Arctic Silver Metallic and I'm having a heck of a time matching the color. I've ordered from a website and even the local paint shop and the match is just too dark. I've gone with X1 both times and neither supplier matched - thinking I may have some other codes here I don't understand. Attached is the paint code sticker from the frunk and a copy of the COA - which kinda match - X1 at least. Just not sure what the X1V9 on the COA is different from the 92U 9 4 X1 on the car! Any help here would be great!

POST 2Original post

I've had good luck with Drcolorchip.com. They do have a 92U/X1 If this isn't right, could the car have been repainted?

POST 3Original post

One question would be - Has the exterior paint been detailed lately - perhaps that will help match the newer paint. Just a thought...
