Having been adding rather too many miles recently, noticed last night a slight clonking noise either pulling away or coming to a stop. Any ideas before I get it looked at? Reminded me of the noise my old Triumph made when the prop shaft bolts came loose (rather regulary!)

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

I can think of some bad things it could be, but have you checked it isn' t due to something stupid, like something rolling around in the front boot?
I' ve had this twice, first time it was a free bottle of windscreen wash that the garage had put in the spare wheel of my boxster, with out telling me. it clonked against the wheel when i stopped sharply or excelerated. second time was in my land rover i left a fire extinguisher on the floor then forgot all about it as it had rolled under the passenger seat.
So, how to feel a little silly! Screen wash bottle, tool kit and warning triangle correctly stored away; quick drive (better than working at home writing a blasted bid document!) and no sign of knocking noise! Hopefully that was the answer! Many thanks.[ ][ ]
