So, this one is right in line with my Porsche experience of 20+ years. The switch that allows you to move the seat up down, forwards, backwards, etc. is broken. I need to move the seat forwards in order to take it out and repair it. Any way to hot wire the guts to move the seat forward by about 3 inches?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'd look at the old broken switch and see what corresponding terminals do what movement you need. Might hook up a meter while pressing buttons..? Or search/find the correct wiring diagram,, and go from there
Just a wild *** guess but I think if you place a screw driver to connect the two posts as in the red line the seat will go forward, and connecting as the green line will go backward.... There are no ground leads in here so no worry of short circuiting to ground...( the other two switches are for up/down )
If you need a replacement switch and it is the driver's side, I have one listed for sale on eBay for $100.00 but will sell it on here for $75.00.
Dr. h.c. Porschetech3, I tried that and nothing happened. I didn't have the ignition key turned on but, I would think the seats would function anyway. I just pulled out my driver's seat to have it reupholstered so, I can't really test that theory.
