Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thinking about getting the PCCM+, but I want a backup camera. Anyone figured out how to do that?

POST 2Original post

Never say never but I haven't seen a solution yet. Underneath, PCCM+ runs on an Android OS so perhaps it's doable. I have low key considered retrofitting an audible park assist but would need to find a way to make it work without cutting those ugly dots into the bumper. You can always just keep backing up till you feel something, and then you know you've gone too far

It's done on 997's. https://www.ebay.com/itm/335222489521

This is awesome, actually. I wonder to what port it plugs in on the back of the 997 PCCM+ and if the 996 version has it as well.

From the ebay ad:

And a pic of the back of the one for a 996, I'd say it looks the same:

POST 7Original post

It looks the same hardware wise, but the real question is whether the software is enabling that hardware to work if its plugged in. I talked to the guy selling the kits for the 997 on ebay, he said he thinks it may work, but no one has tested it. I wasn't willing to throw down the cash and ship the kit in from europe and buy a PCCM+ just to test it and from what I can tell, no one else online has tried it. If you'd like to gamble, I'd love to know the answer.
