Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I got the vent cover and everything else off, but can't seem to remove the switch from the bezel??? All the instruction make it seem very simple like the switch will just come right out once the large nut is loosened. Not so with mine... It almost seems like there is some sort of twist lock or something.FWIW the 101 projects book has been totally worthless in this regard...glad I didn't pay for it (came with the car). If anyone can help out with this, I'd appreciate it! Thanks

POST 2Original post

Push the headlight switch in (it feels like a spring is being depressed) and turn it to the right and pull it out.

Hmmm...I wish it was that easy guys...It's all buttoned back up for today Oh well...I found a diy over on renntech that says the front switch bezel needs to be pulled out about a 1/4" before you can actually turn the light switch to remove it. At the very least I've learned the proceedure so next time it'll only take me about 10 or 15 minutes to get the vent out and get to the switch... Once again, The Pelican 101 jobs for 996 was USELESS for this job... "Remove light switch" is not very instructional especially when your talking about old plastic...
