Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

does anyone know if it is possible to retro fit the remote cab operation in a 996? the key comes equipped with the button but it doesnt seem to work

POST 2Original post

The remote opening and closing of the roof is standard as far as I am aware. I have had 1999 model year and a 2002 cabs and they both came with that facility. You must make sure that the car is in in Park if tiptronic or I guess neutral with a manual and that the hand brake is on. Also make sure that the engine and boot lids are shut. You have to keep your finger on the button and the led in the middle of the dashboard should flicker when pressing. Jonathan

thanks i will give it a try simon

POST 4Original post

Simon What is even better is the ability to just touch the roof button in the car once to have the entire operation completed like the one touch electric window. I obtained a Onetouch device from USA and its fantastic. If you want details I can give you them. Jonathan
