Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, Only recently bought my 997 and love it, but having had a folding ignition key (Holden) for the last 2 years, this standard Porsche key seems huge.  My wife said, "is that a P key in your pocket or are you just happy to see me".  Well, maybe that was just wishful thinking lol I have done searches on here and the internet in general and can't find anything, so does anyone know if there is any key (folding type) that I can modify or will suit my car. Cheers, Kev

Not that I am aware of this is my silver 997 key ,,,I believe they also come in black and PTS for those who spent the big bucks ............

POST 5Original post

I dropped my key last week, broke apart. Put it together, unlocks fine but car won't start with it. There is some fancy stuff that happens in there so doubt an aftermarket option exists... I need a new key from Porshe - preparing myself for the bill ?
