Hi all I had the car up on a lift over the weekend and noticed the shift linkages on the side of the transmission were pretty much cover in oily residue. Seems like oil has been seeping out of somewhere in that area over time. Is there a common issue here and is it a simple fix? Car is a 2000 c2 3.4 manual. Attached some photos of the area. Side note, do the cable ends look okay to you guys? Thanks for the help

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
