My '00 996 C-4 has started leaking coolant onto top of drivers exhaust tip - seems to be expansion tank - and suggestions on getting this thing out? I heard that the motor has to dropped a few inches to get it out. How do you do this? I have access to a lift and a 'engine' jack. Help a fellow Porsche lover out?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The 99-01 tanks are a tad easier since smaller. I didn't have to drop the engine but I did take out the air pump and also the plastic mount that the tank bolts to. Along with fuel lines (careful they could be pressurized if drove recently) Bit of fighting but it comes out.
