Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

My rear shocks are done and need to be replaced. I have been looking at a set of Yellow DPS, which on Ebay is around $1100. Anyone have any other suggestions I would appreciate any input ideas or suggestions.

POST 2Original post

How much are OEM shocks? Is there a ride characteristic you want to change?

OEM shocks are Bilsteins. The rears new are $231 each and the fronts are $439 each. I've had Koni's in the past, and the sport models are a little less then $300 each. I think that I am going to send mine to Bilstein and have them refurbished at a cost of $65 each. I've has some good advice from fellow 996 owners

POST 4Original post

I've had bilsteins over the years.. Aftermarket on a VW and specially valved for my old 911. I think they are great shocks. How long (time wise) do they anticipate needing to rebuild your current ones?

I haven't called them yet, just the info I got online. But I have a vacation coming up in a couple of months, so that would be the best time to do it. I will post on this thread what I find out and keep it current.
