The OPC Brisbane tell me at my 45K service for my 2008 C2 that my steering rack is starting to leak at the end seals and must be replaced. $4.2K! However I suspect that these can be reconditioned. Has anyone had the same experience and any suggestions? many thanks Merv

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

This has never happened to anyone else?
I would have thought they can be rebuilt. The older ones can be (just had my 964 done). Go get a second opinion from a steering specialist!
Thanks ? I did that and to have the reconditioning done was about half of the OPC quote. Fortunately after some discussion, Porsche Centre came back with a similar price for an OEM part fitted. Good outcome
