Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm trying to find th A/C service valve on my 1999 996. I need to recharge the A/C system. Under the engine lid there is a connector very near the A/C compressor but this does not seem to be where you would attach the freon cannister (the connector is not the right type here). Can anyone point me to where the A/C service valve is on this vehicle?

POST 2Original post

It's in the front passenger side near the battery.

POST 3Original post

I don’t want to sound pedantic, but if you do not know where the AC ports are, are you sure you are qualified to be messing with the system? It is very easy to overfill and do some pretty expensive damage to these systems if you lack the correct equipment and knowledge…………
