Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hi guys! I recently picked up an iPod car charger and FM transmitter (click here) . I want to know whether I can leave it plugged in when I switch off the car. Will it drain my battery? If I leave the ipod plugged into it, the transmitter is on (FM channel LED is lit) and if I pull the iPod out but leave the transmitter in the lighter plug the little green light on the charger is lit. Any idea? This is for the 911 TT 2008. Thanks

If the light is on when the car is off, then it is drawing power. That means that it will reduce the amount of time before the battery goes flat. Unfortunately, without knowing how much power it is drawing, we can't give you an estimate as to how long before the battery is dead. If you can, it is better to just unplug it when you turn off the car. Or, you can find a switched 12v supply and hard-wire into that.
