Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everybody, I can't believe this is my first post on Rennlist but unfortunately about 6 hours after purchasing a 996 Turbo I was humbled by some horrible roads here in Dallas. Long story short, the passenger side oil drain reservoir for the turbo took a hit and cracked where the flange is for the allen key. I've searched for a while now and haven't been able to find an install or replacement thread. Was curious if their are any nuances/tricks tips to pulling this off or is it just the bottom line, allen and side bolts? Looks like one of the holes might be in the actual reservoir through the drain plug? I definitely want to document the process since there wasn't much that came up on my search. Thanks again and I'm super excited to get this thing back on the road asap.

Ok cool. Engine comes out through the top right?

POST 4Original post

996 Turbo forum would probably be a better place to get a reliable answer

Goofed on that. Will delete and repost. Thank you.
