Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Driving on dusty AZ rural roads seems to allow considerable dust into the evap system charcoal canister, and into the shut off valve on side of canister, through the air purge line (fresh air intake). The 996 EVAP system diagram below illustrates that the purge line terminates somewhere near the rear of the car (number 3 in diagram). If you have identified the location of where the purge air line terminates and how the air opening might be designed or possibly reconfigured to filter or reduce dust infiltration, please kindly share knowledge equity on the topic. 996 EVAP system

Zoom in dead center u can see the black fuel line in rhe trans tunnel that just ends. Its inbetween the metal guide tubes for the e-brake cable where they enter the tub. Try to ignored the rest if whats going on in this pic . I guess u could extend it with hose somewhere less dirty but i dont really see how with all the pans in place that dirt could get in there.. u could filter it with a chevy 350 valve cover breather filter.
