Latch won't even trying. When pulling the emergency cable - it's like it is attached to the rock, not to the moving latch. Recommendations?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The only thing I would suggest is to have someone press down on the frunk lid just above the latch while you try the different methods of releasing the latch. Other than that I'm afraid I have no idea.
Already did that No bueno. I'm trying to remove the headlight in the hope, that it will provide a little more access to the cable/latch, but can't figure out what exact tool to use. Someone is referring to 6mm socket, someone is referring to 5mm socket, someone is talking about the hex. What tool exactly do I need? Since I'm trying to remove the headlight in non-orthodox way (from the wheel well) - I need to know for sure what tool do I need, since it's not the most convenient space to work from
Absolutely. The wheel lock is probably in the frunk too What is the original hex size to get the lights out - 5mm or 6mm (or else)? I know that it's being done from the frunk, but in my case I'll need to remove the light from the "backdoor" . Also I'm not sure that headlight removal will help me in any way to get closer to the latch, so may be it's a waste of the time anyway.
Important question - when I pull the lever in the cabin - is the cable connected directly to the latch or there is an electric actuator on the way as well? Again - mine is '99.
I'm not much help here because I have a 987 which I believe is different. I did read you will need a 5 mm though. And when all is said and done, I have trouble believing you'll be able to access the frunck latch but don't really know. The 987 has only two ways to electronically open the frunk. The switch on the driver door sill and the key fob. It those fail or the battery is dead, a jumper battery can be attached to a jumper switch in the fuse panel along with a solid ground connection. And if that fails, there is a cable under the driver side front wheel well liner that needs to be accessed and pulled.
I had 987 last year. Made the whole series about it. Also was struggling with the frunk lock but figure it out quickly. I posted a few videos about this car:
Turned out my frunk was open all this time, and the actual latch was showed in by the hook from the hood. The latch has an internal spring failure and didn't pop the hood up, so the hood appeared closed https://********.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif
BTW the cable on early cars 99 etc. is direct
Already ordered the replacement latch. Since I disassembled the whole interior (except the dash) - found out, that the it's pretty easy to remove the panel with the levers in case the solenoid locked them to override the solenoid.
This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
