Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello. My very capable mechanic called and said I have a pin style connector at the trans vs the ball / socket connector. Man these early cars have some nuances. I think we are just going with the 997 GT3 shifter setup with new factory cables. Any of you have experience with the Numeric shifter / cables in an early 99 or a 99 at all?

POST 2Original post

Just contact numeric. They have the correct ends available. I dont know why they can get the info out to their vendors so they can put this option on the order form. This issue pops up regularly.

POST 4Original post

Ive got the Numeric shifter and cables on my 99 C4 I didnt have any problems with the cable ends on mine. The rubber plug/bung where the cables enter the cabin was a different story. The numeric cables are quite a bit larger in diameter than the stock cables which in turn makes the plug too large to fit in the tunnel
