This past week I traded in my 2002 C2 for a 2009 C2S. So far I'm really happy with the move. The older car had 90,000 miles on it, and the newer one has only 28,000 on the clock, despite there having been 5 previous owners. The '09 car, being a 997.2 model with manual trans, was pretty pricey. I tried to get the dealer down some, but the relative scarcity of the 997.2 models worked against me -- there were only about 1/3 as many of the 997.2 cars imported as compared to the 997.1 models, due in part to the Great Recession. Also, there weren't as many cars produced with manual transmissions. The dealer did knock off $1500 the selling price, which helped a bit. I recognize that the PDK trannies are great for racing, but like many Porsche owners, I like "rowing" the gearshift. Anyway, I'm real happy I upgraded. Even though I paid a lot for the car, I think that there's a good chance that it will hold or even increase its value over time. I'll post a photo or two when I take some...

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Congrats! I just acquired this 2009 911 Carrera 997.2 C2 6-speed manual with 135k miles. Love it so far! There'a few things to work on...but the reward is worth the risk!
I just picked mine up last Wednesday, in Portland, OR. It was snowing when I was going through the paperwork and when I went to a branch of my bank to get a cashier's check. When I finally drove off with my new car at about 3pm, the traffic heading north out of Portland was just crawling. It took me almost an hour to cover the 8 miles from downtown Portland to the bridge across the Columbia River (the divider between OR and my state). Even though I hit heavy traffic, I feel extremely fortunate that I got out when I did. Later that afternoon it dumped 11" of snow, resulting in a lot of people spending most of the night stuck in completely stalled traffic. The National Weather Service had predicted a 5% chance of up to 1" of snow -- man, were they out to lunch! I'm very happy with my new ride! I still haven't taken any pictures of it, but I definitely will, and will post them here.
Some pix of my new toy -- '09 Carrera S...
Sweet ride. Which engine does it have? 3.8? I'm hoping to get a .2 in a couple years. Just beginning to learn about them.
