Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can anybody confirm that a 1999 996 hardtop will fit on a 2004 convertible without mods? My 1999 911 was washed out in IAN but I have the hardtop. I am looking a 2004 convertible without a hardtop. Thanks in advance

POST 2Original post

Your Hardtop from the 99 has the old type of hardware for attaching at the rear. A 2004 may have the newer (and better) type of hardware. Not sure what year the hardware was updated. But a few years ago, the hardware was not too expensive, but it has become much more expensive..

POST 3Original post

My 04 has the old style lock down, so yes it is possible.

POST 5Original post

You need to check to see if your 04 has the mounts in the car. Mine didn't. I needed to buy mounts when I bought my hardtop.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

was that a big deal? where did you buy them

POST 7Original post

There are some listed on ebay....there could be more but I just pulled these up for $225: https://www.ebay.com/itm/18575764800...Bk9SR-ryo7TaYQ I purchased mine from DC Auto but not sure if they have any in stock currently: www.dcauto.com

POST 8Original post

It isn't bad to do. You need to remove the rear rollbar cover. Here is the link on how to do it. https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...t-a-997-a.html

I'll give it a try when I get back to FLA

POST 10Original post

Just to check which style lock downs or if you have any, you can pull the plugs and shine a flashlight and then you know which and if you need to remove the cover to install.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
