Hi all, thanks in advance. IPD 87174 is the base part number for the 2.7 and 3.4 non-comp plenums for cars sticking with the 74mm throttle body (e..g, my base 07). I know they make a 3.4 and 2.7 "version" of the 87174. My question is, will the 3.4 version fit on the 2.7? I've been told it will fit, I've also been told it will fit but is has a slightly different internal profile...so not optimized for the 2.7. I've also been told the plenum itself is the exactly the same, and it will fit both the 3.4 and 2.7. I have access to the 3.4 74mm version, so I'd like to save $900 if possible. Thank you again!

Yeah it will physically fit no problem, the mounting and throttle body are the same. The difference is just in the internal shaping being slightly more geared toward the 3.4. In practice on a 2.7 it still works fine, just don’t expect huge gains. If you already have access to it, I’d run it and save the money

take my advice and don’t bother. I fitted one to my 2007 2.7 cayman, put it in the Dyno before, and after, and it lost power through the full mid range. there are tuners in the UK that refuse to fit them/ map a car with one fitted.
