Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 2Original post

"values of the 996 are unlikely to drop and Hagerty forecasts they will continue to rise steadily" You'd think that'd be a good thing, but I want another one haha ...or did I mean to say "what?! Why would anyone ever want of these things"

POST 3Original post

Thanks for the heads up on the article. I suspect that we will be overloaded with articles and videos over the next few months saying the same. The 996 Rennasaince is alive and well.

POST 4Original post

I just came here to post a link to this article. A great read!

POST 6Original post

Great read. Thank you. My favorite quote: "....And then there were the ‘issues.’ A handful of exploding engines did for the 996’s reliability and reputation. In turn, a whole micro industry of fixes and snake oil sprung up. It’s a subject for another story, but all the engines that were ever going to blow up have now probably done so, and the ‘fixes’ that are worthwhile are easily retro-fitted during bouts of routine maintenance.."

POST 7Original post

I've had at least 3 articles pop up in my Google feed this week re how the 996 has come into its own and is THE car to buy. It's so funny reading them, with the authors touting what amazing cars they are when just a couple years ago they were widely panned by those same journalists.

POST 8Original post

Translation...your opportunity to get that second, "beater" 996, or your first cheap one, is gone. Of course, we here, already knew.

POST 9Original post

Glad I got mine when I did but in general cars are up up up. Unfortunately there are a lot of cars on my list that just aren't going to obtainable or I wont be willing to sped what they will be going for.

POST 10Original post

Hipster Translation: this car is old now so it's okay to like it. Good article
