Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

As we know, this is not being offered. Any thoughts on $ and timing to special order a black/terracotta two tone interior? Would this count as a leather interior to sample for $3,800? I am going to ask my dealer to look into this.

POST 2Original post

Here's a thought - Terracotta is a $2500 optional leather, so yes you could probably get a custom order of black/terracota for $3,800, I'm sure Porsche would be happy to do that and take the $$$. However, what about finding someone with a black interior and asking them if they'd like a black/terracota blend for only $1250. You get terracota, he/she gets black, and you mix and match and split the cost of your terracota upgrade. Of course there may be arguments over who gets which part in which color. /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/argue.gif

A true terracotta / black combo such as what is offered on the 997 will be tough to conjure up. Through the exclusive program you may be able to specify a different colored top part of the dash, but the problem will be the rest of the interior........the door panels would have to be custom as would the back panels and such. By the time you got done doing all the custom work through Porsche my guess would be a $6K interior. At this point in time I don't even think the exclusive program even applies to the Cayman this early in the game and to get what you want may take a years wait. As much as I wanted the Black/Terracotta mix.......I really couldn't see it as being a feasible option if you have to do it custom.......but if you try, the best of luck to you!

POST 4Original post

If you want to see what a black/terracota interior might look like, go find an Audi dealer and ask to see the brochure for the A-8. They use that combination as their interior model.

POST 5Original post

OK, well how about Terracotta interior with deviated carpet in black? Is that possible and how do you think that would look with all the carpetting in a Cayman (the back, etc)?

POST 6Original post

That was one of my first choices.......but sadly I don't think deviated carpet is a regular option now like it used to be.....similar to deviated stiching.......you may be able to get it, but it will be tough. As far as looks?......hard to tell. IMO the previous 996/986 interiors were better canidates for deviated carpet compared to the new interiors which have sharper cutoffs on the door panels, etc. If you look at a Carrera GT with Terracotta, the black carpets looks great in it........but I don't know how well I would like it in the Cayman.
