Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My OPC have kindly sent me the new 997 brochure (A5 book) but no price list for the options (apparently not available). Not sure if I want a 997, but it would be fun to price up various specs. Does anyone have a list of the options prices?

POST 2Original post

Price List available and now sitting in your email box [ ] I will email you a copy of it and then you can go "MAD" [8D] and why aren't you sure about wanting one the reviews are glowing even from anti Porsche journo's .... Must be getting old

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks. I'm trying to escape from the consumerist tread mill of always wanting the latest new thing to come out in the misguided idea that it will somehow make my life better. Yes, I am getting old. Also, I think a sub-£50k 987'S' will be a better buy than a plus-£70k 997'S'

POST 4Original post

This may help [ ] We are enmeshed in the cancerous worship of "security" and in our devotion we fling our lives beneath the wheels of routine-and before we know it our lives are gone. What does a person need-really need? Some food each day, heat and shelter, six feet to lie down in and some form of working activity that will yield a sense of accomplishment. That's all-in the material sense. And we know it!. But we are brainwashed by our economic system until we end up in a tomb beneath a pyramid of time, payments, mortgages, preposterous gadgetry and playthings that divert our attention from the sheer idiocy of the charade. The years thunder by, dreams of youth grow dim where they lie caked in dust on the alter of wealth.. Before we know it the tomb is sealed. Where then lies the answer? In choice. Which shall it be? Bankruptcy of purse or bankruptcy of life?

POST 5Original post

I have just sent this to the bank manager .................. He says I still cant have anymore money and to get back to work !!! Paul

POST 7Original post

Daro, Thanks for forwarding. The rear wiper, sunroof and metalic paint are all now options. In real terms adds £2k to the price. A bit mean, I think. Spizz

POST 8Original post

Philip I guess thats why most of the pre production and early test cars have been in Red or Yellow minus the roof ashtray and rear swiper [ ]guess even Porsche press office were relunctant to part with extra cash for what should be standard kit

POST 9Original post

So a rear wiper is optional but a cupholder is standard? Errrrr....?

POST 10Original post

To be fair the 997 Carrera does now come with 18" Carrera wheels (previously £784), PSM (was £681) PCM control module (although, without sat. nav./phone module!) the sound pack plus (was £424), all of which were optional extra's on the 996 (as was the sunroof, mentioned earlier.). In addition there are the other "evolutional" extra's (oil temperature guage, extra horses, new interior, bodyshell, steering etc etc).

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
