I have been told two different stories regarding why Tiptronic starts out in second gear rather than first... 1) Gas savings 2) Prevent wheel spin</br> Is it either or both or neither? In response to the 'yes' on the second question, 'How do you do it?' I really haven't looked yet, but any time savings is good to me.
Am I missing something? If you don't use it from a standstill,why have first gear there at all?
You can if in manual mode. It's still not clear to me if it ever starts in first gear when in auto mode.
