Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Just traded by 1995 993 c2 for 1996 C4 with all the bells and whistles and very happy. However, the dealer has removed the original supplier lables (HR Owen) from the front and rear screens, this has left some rather unsightly sticky marks that don't seem to want to come off. So far I have only tried meths but any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Percy Migration info. Legacy thread was 14289

Lighter fluid will work. Migration info. Legacy thread was 14290

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Bosch, will give it a go this evening. Will lighter fluid also work for the glue left on the wheels from previous balancing weights? Percy Migration info. Legacy thread was 14317

POST 4Original post

For the wheels I've found that Autoglym Tar removerer is perfect for this job. Their glass cleaner is also good for polishing all glass after u've removed the sticky goo. Migration info. Legacy thread was 14318

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Jonathan Do you think the tar remover will work on the glass as well, not had too much luck with the lighter fluid, was going to try something a bit stronger like nail varnish remover but that might be too harsh. Anyway, will give it go this weekend and see what happens. Percy Migration info. Legacy thread was 14388

POST 6Original post

try a stanley blade at a narrow angle, thisshould lift of the hardened top layer and leave a softer layer that the lighter fluid should remove. Failing the ligter fluid try brake cleaner. Migration info. Legacy thread was 14402
