Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Guys anybody know how to lock the doors on 996T without activating the alarm? im aware double clicking key fob deactivates internal mobile sensors but I’m going on 8 hour ferry so not sure this is sufficient? according to the car manual locking with the fob or the key sets the alarm. Also after 2 mins of being unlocked the car locks itself & sets the alarm too. any ideas? Can it be done? Ferry is 2200 BST tonight!! thank in advance

POST 2Original post

Can't be done, I'm afraid. The best you can do is, as you say, double lock it to disable the interior sensor. By the way, it only re-locks if you unlock a locked car and don't open the driver's door.

POST 3Original post

Have been on a ferry in my 911 so many times and have not had a problem with motion induced alarm activation.

POST 6Original post

I just lock mine with the key in the door lock, and I have never had a problem even on rough crossings !
