I have the BOSE sound system installed. I happened to notice the other day that the Porsche mats fitted to my car (an expensive set of mats) have not been properly cut to fit around the subwoofer in the passenger footwell. They (Porsche), have just taken the standard mat and wedged it into the footwell so it is crumpled and doesn't sit flat. I don't want to cut the mat myself as it is properly edged etc, but I am of the opinion that they should have fitted a mat to fit the footwell (with the optional subwoofer, supplied by Porsche, in place). Has anyone else had this problem? My opinion is that this is a bit cheap of Porsche....

I agree that mats should be custom and fit Bose/non-Bose S's.I would demanda refund and go after market. I've been watching Lloyds Mats. They seem good quality, nice colors and embroidery and cut to fit. Problem is they don't seem to have the Cayman's ready yet. I think if you can wait you'll be happy. http://www.lloydmats.com/
They (Porsche) do have mats that fit. My Cayman (no Bose) came with the wrong mats - black Bose versions instead of beige to match my interior. My dealer got the proper ones for me (and let me keep the black ones) which are wider than the Bose versions. Maybe just ask your dealer, you might get a similarly helpful response.
You just have the wrong mats. The dealer has to fix this under warranty if nothing else. I would hope they would do it ASAP. I have Bose and my car came with mats that fit. My dealer said they had seen the cars come in with the wrong mats before.
You can order mats from USSpeed ($99). Call instead, they are cut to fit the Cayman (Lloyds), loads of colors and nice pile, but they don't have the CaymanS logo yet.
Go to www.cocomats.com They have some GREAT looking mats. I order them all of the time for customers, everyone seems to love them. Be sure to tell them if your car is Bose equipped or not. They are great people to do business with, and their mats are truly unique...like the vintage Porsches.
I have BOSE and my car did not come with ANY mats.... is this an option?
Mats are a Porshce option (yeah, an option in 2006!). Check out my response above, these are great mats. Better than OEM IMO Edited by - PACayman on 03/01/2006 11:25:02 AM
<div style="PAGE-BREAK-AFTER: always">[/quote]</div> just called USSpeed, got black mats with silver Porsche name on them custom cut to fit around BOSE surround sound system for $112 total Not bad
My OPC gave me black mats instead of the Blue (Ocean/Sea Blue) mats that I had ordered because of the BOSE mat size problem, 3 months on and they still havent replaced them. I was onto them again today! I guess when they replace them with the correct mats I'll be able to hold on to the old ones... however Isn't this a lot of fuss on Porsches side - surely they should have enough mats available for cars fitted with BOSE!
Floor mats are now a factory option, rather than installed at port (in North America). We were notified today, and I'm sure it's to help curb this floormat problem that we are having. Nice to see Porsche making some changes, because we've been struggling with this for a while.
