If I recall when I had a 997 the rear windows did go up when the top was down? In the 996 it doesnt go up when the top is down? Is it me or am I just getting old?

In my car, with the top down, the rear windows do not go up. 2004 996.

You will need to acquire a smarttop device make it work the way you want. This also gives you lots more options and ability to open close on motion at a speed you select. https://www.motivemods.com/Mods4Cars...4c-stafpe1.htm this also lets you open and close top from the key which is nice. You can stick your finger in the slot where the top latches to depress the switch. Then you can raise and lower the rear windows.

Be careful going around the Porsche fail-safes'. There is a reason Porsche doesn't allow 996 rear windows up when top is down. If rear windows are up and top is actuated to go up, it can cause excessive pressure on rear windows that can damage the regulators, windows, and or top. Just make sure to put them down before closing your top... jmo
