Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK - here's the next stupid question. How do you get into a 996 on a morning like today with the windows frozen solid (ie when the windows can't drop to open the door)? This morning I just forced it, but then the door wouldn't close again for about 10 minutes until all had thawed out. It doesn't look like it'll do too much damage just yanking it open, but it won't do the rubber seals on the door frame much good in the long term. I don't like the idea generally of pouring warm water all over the place - what do you do?

POST 2Original post

A little spray of window de-icer? [8|]Have you tried the 'night before' de-icer? [:-]A bit of vaseline on the door seals?[ ] A garage?[ ]

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Like everyone else Thursday night's ice caught me by surprise so I didn't even have a scraper to hand. Garage - I wish - but that would require buying a garden shed to decant contents of garage into. Deicer - but isn't that less than good for paintwork? Night before deicer - maybe give that a try. Vaseline? - interesting? Thanks mate for reminding me a trip to Halfords is needed this weekend
