Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Trying to figure out what these are on my relays, I think they are not factory Also someone has added some red led on the fuse panel cover I just bought this car and am trying to figure out what these add-ons could be Anyone have any ideas See pics 2001 996 c4

POST 2Original post

I am guessing its a heat sensor. What relays are those? Pip

POST 3Original post

Aren't they the cooling fan relays - 1 is stage 1 on one side, the other is stage 2 on the otherside. I'm guessing the things fastened to them are sensors or chimes that connect also to the LEDs that bell/illuminate when the fans kick in - one for low speed and one for high speed. Although fitting LEDs in the footwell is as useful for the everyday driver as Stevie Wonder.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanx Alex I googled the picture and it said sirens or buzzers. I just want to be sure these are not factory as I will follow the wiring and remove it . It doesn’t seem to work anyway. There is also a rotating knob switch up under my left knee which looks aftermarket. The only thing I see that has been modified is there was an Alpine iLX-W770 installed.

POST 6Original post

Yeah I was going to say buzzer..must be to let them ken acoustically when the fans are on.

POST 7Original post

You should try typing "black hole" into Google pictures then. You'll see some sights Pip
