I'm fitting a retorfitlabs kit to standard (Halogen) 996.2 headlights but I have a problem. The kit takes a link from the main beam to trigger the 'Bi-Zenon' facility and give Zenon as well as main beam. However the connector supplied that fits into the main beam bulb holder is significantly larger than the Porsche original and I can't fit it, it fouls the headlamp adjustment mechanism. Has anyone tried it and got any hints please?

The supplied bi-xenon trigger connector sounds too bulky for the 996.2 housing and is fouling the adjuster. I wouldn’t force it. All you need is a main beam trigger, so I’d pick that up from the OE main beam wiring with a much slimmer splice/piggyback connection and route it clear of the adjustment mechanism.
Thanks Sundeep, I was thinking I'd have to make up my own connection.. These are the two connectors:
The supplied connector is clearly different physical design to OEM, just make up a slimmer trigger connection instead, simply to pick up the main beam trigger cleanly and in a way that clears the adjuster mechanism. I’d be inclined to use the OE main beam wiring and make a neat compact connection for the bi-xenon trigger wire rather than trying to package that larger Retrofitlab plug into a space it was never really going to fit. As long as: -you are taking the correct main beam feed -the shutter triggers properly on main beam -nothing fouls the adjuster or rear cover then that is the right solution, even if it means ignoring the supplied connector.
@maldren how did you get on with these upgrades
I haven't cut and shut the cable yet, the lights are great on dip but I do need to go bi-Zenon!
If you get an opportunity should it arise, be good to see the brightness of the lights projected forwards, as I have a 996.2 that also needs the same treatment.
I'll see what I can do or have a look at the next Fairmile? The problem with the light always seems to be the silvering of the reflectors and I may well have followed Infrasilver's route and had the original lights refurbished if I had seen his post first..
Just remind me @infrasilver
It was in this thread, Post in thread 'upgrading the bulbs on my litronic headlamps ?' 1 Mar 2025 I have just got back from Europe and wanted my headlights sorting before I went, as I have mentioned they were very dull when I was out there at this time last year and some of the passes are done in the dark. I wasn't so happy with the look of the retrofit labs lights and the loss of the ability to switch them for European driving, I didn't want to lose that feature if I could help it. I did some research and found that the reflector bowls are made of some alloy metal mix (I did find out the name but have forgotten) but when speaking to some chroming places, they said they couldn't... infrasilver
After a fairly frustrating few hours I got this sorted. If anyone attempts this in the future give me a shout. There is an easy solution. Second photo of before and after getting main beam going
