Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. While I have no particular insight on removing a Porsche gear knob, there are a couple of "bewares" I have read from others trying to do this on other cars....... Don't knock out your windshield Don't break off your rear view mirror Don't break your nose All the result of pulling up on the knob with great force, and when it finally breaks loose, you hit yourself in the face, or break the windshield / mirror!!!! Good luck, and hopefully someone can provide you with some tips that will alleviate the potential pit falls! Regards!
There is a collar piece you turn 90 degrees which should allow the knob to pull straight up but sometimes it stll requires great force to do so. See our articles section for details. The first time I tried mine I couldn't get it but then after the dealer took it off now it comes off easier. Hope that helps!
Thanks for the advice chaps, now Sorted, Unclipped and lifted up the gator, found correct spanner to fit the flat sides of the plastic collar sat at the base of the gear knob under the gator, turned 90 degrees clockwise,( will only turn one way ) and being careful as not to knock myself out gave a long hard tug and off she came, reverse to fit and hey presto ! Ian.
