Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hi, porsche pros. I just purchased 2006 997 S and I would like to add " LED Light " in my Side Marker . 2009 997 (face lifted version) has the LED light for side marker , right? Is there any side marker available like that or should I customize that? Is that customizable though? What I've found was only smoke side marker... Thanks.

POST 2Original post

Welcome to the site, have you tried either the search feature in the forum or looking through our Articles section? I know there is an article on how to do it as well as prior discussions that will be helpful.

POST 3Original post

Thank you, it seems like there is something that I want. However, I want to put the LED Light on my 997 model.

POST 4Original post

I looked around a little and it doesn't seem like there's anything that would help you modify the 997 Gen1. RennTech has more input for 911 modification so that might help. I suppose it would just be a matter of pulling out the unit and finding LEDs to fit. The Gen 1 997 doesn't have LED Daytime Running Lights like the Gen 2 so I'm not sure how to implement that. I usually hear the name side marker in reference to the orange or clear light in front of the wheel well. What you want to modify is the turn indicator unit.

POST 5Original post

Thanks Myen Shi. hmm I really want that led light on my turn indicator unit.. I posted same article in RennTech but still no replies. I think I have to wait a bit more. Do you think I should ask some Body shop guys? or do you know any good tuning store around LA Area? Thank you!

POST 7Original post

I'm trying to do that as we speak. I bought some led strips and a 997 fog light housing on ebay and have already figured out how I want to install them but I can't open the damn housing. I've tried the oven, a heat gun, prying, and all 3 combined. The problem is that the housing begins to melt way before the silicone. Any ideas on how I can open it up.

POST 8Original post

As mentioned Ruf has one, but I believe its $5000 per pair in carbon. A few companies modified a 997TT LED into the non Turbo housing but I dont think its a regular for sale item.
