I've just joined the club, and picked up my used 2004 Carrera 2 from the Dealer last Saturday. Terrified by engine failure stories on this forum and others, I've noticed about a tablespoonful of creamy sludge at the top of the oil filler pipe. The car has done 6000 miles and I'm wondering if I should be concerned, or if this is normal. Many thanks for any help John

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Amoret, Thanks very much, great reply. I searched for sludge not mayonnaise! This really is a great forum, and I can go to bed happy. Now all I have to do is learn to drive the thing properly! ( I've discovered that I involuntarily stop breathing when I accelerate... Far too much excitement) John
I think the not breathing thin is quite normal. [ ]
