Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone I’ve just bought a 996 targa , years ago had a c4 but at 65 decided time to renew the relationship. Can I ask if the roof blind is an option as mine hasn’t got one ? It’s had a targa top refurb in the past. Also the starter motor is sometimes not disengaging immediately……any ideas if it’s a b… ache to replace .

Does it have the button to open/close the blind (to the right of the roof switch). I do not think the sun blind was optional

Starter motor replacement is not so bad, nice easy one to get familiar with the car, i find it easier just removing the throttle body and first intake tube to get it out.

Well that will be welcome when I manage to fix opening and closing the roof, I’m currently thinking it’s a lovely glass roof for the winter

My roof is very slow at opening and closing, so I intend to take a look before the nicer weather comes
