G'day all, Having a few hassles with removing the driver's airbag on a 2008 Boxster 987 with auto transmission. I have been told there are ' 2 tabs '.. well... ok, I've pressed a flat blade screw driver everywhere around the wheel etc, but can't find anyway to release it!?!? I'm sure it's a simple procedure, or then again, maybe I'm just too simple So, if anybody could give me a good explanation on how to remove the airbag, I'd really appreciate it. Also, the auto T-bar knob... how the heck does one remove that thing?? I cannot locate any screws, it doesn't twist off, the bottom doesn't drop down? I'm 95 per cent into removing the dash assy on this vehicle, but these 2 things are slowing me down a little bit! Any pics or advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

turn the steering wheel so the hole in the side is accessible. With a long screw driver (i use a t30 torx) stick it in the hole and pull off the airbag
OK, fair enough. I did notice a hole which I did stick a screw driver inside and moved and twisted, but to no avail. I noticed when I was moving the driver around, the horn would sound, so it is some kind of lever. I'll try in the morning, when I get back to the shop, and gice it a good reef to see if I can release the bloody thing! Can anybody help with the t-bar knob?
