Not sure how much higher this will - 8 year gap of no history. Anyone know of the car - any idea what happened? Was it kidnapped and locked in a garage? https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/2002-porsche-911-996-turbo-37

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Drivers seat bolster looks like the kind of wear I had at 85-90K on my two 996s, not at 50K but that isn't necessarily a danger sign. Also a few places look like corossion starting, plus the interior of the fuel filler looks like it's been kept outside (and a few of the seals look a bit green on the doors), not inside - neither of which may not matter to you
Looking at the photos it’s got a few dents one on the passenger door one on the rear end passenger side near the engine lid which might be awkward to get out and the spoiler and chin spoiler need a paint as well as does the blister on the rear wing. The gap in servicing of 8 years is always a question mark of why you’d leave it so long regardless of mileage. These are brilliant cars but can easily cost a chunk of cash if they haven’t been properly maintained so buyer beware

had similar observations when looking - also questioning the fitment of the front bumper - gaps under the headlights seem larger than normal? Always seem to be able to spot more when looking at cars for other people than when i'm buying myself!!
I'd be looking at the bodywork condition very closely on this one. The lower side skirts that are black/grey plastic as standard appear to have been painted on the car. You can see the silver paint over the where it meets the bodywork, where ordinarily there would be a slight gap. How lazy do you have to be to not remove them before painting? Also leading edge of the drivers side sill at the front wheel arch seems to have just been blown over the peeling paint, rather than rubbing back etc. Doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad car, but certainly requires a detailed look into what else may have been done on the cheap.
Few bits pointed out above plus a lack of underside pics coupled with corrosion already in the engine bay.... Wouldn't bother bidding unless you have seen it.
yeh I've decided against considering it at all. I don't like the 8 year gap - with no info on exactly what happened.
Latest bid now £37,500
I know the car (not mine) and it’s been very looked after the past few years while it’s been in the seller’s ownership. Lots of remedial work done since it was purchased, if I had space in my life for a turbo and the money I would buy it. Like everything though, it’s tough considering these things remotely, lots of bad stuff can be missed and lots of great stuff overlooked.
surprised its gone so high with the gap in service. FYI those who aren't aware - a 2001 996 Turbo sold the other day for £90k with 7k miles on the clock - be it in the States... has 996 turbo's time come?

The 996 turbo is undervalued and can only go one way for the money they are fabulous cars. It’ll be interesting to see where this one ends up in price but for me it doesn’t look like it’s been well looked after when it needs paint in more than one place. And then you have the 8 year gap in servicing which could be a slight concern
59 miles covered in that 7yr period.

I thought so in 2013 when I bought my fPsh, 9 year old, 48k mile example from a Porsche Specialist for £29,999.

Stick with it it’s just taking a little longer to come to fruition

no bad if you've still got it. literally driven it for 10 years and its still worth the same...
