Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi All, My cars just developed a rattle. I'm hoping someone could give an opinion what what the cause may be. It's underneath, and feels like it's transmission related. When pressing the clutch the rattle stops. I've posted a clip on Dropbox which should give an idea on whats happening. https://www.dropbox.com/s...-BEBC73EB0D1B.MOV?dl=0 Any ideas?

POST 2Original post

From your description I suggest it might be wear in the clutch release bearing mechanism. I have no experience of this on a Porsche, but it is worth a good poke around underneath to see if anything associated with the clutch slave cylinder etc. is adrift.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks John - others have said something similar. I've got it booked in to the garage so hopefully its nothing more than this.

POST 4Original post

Also no expert but could be the clutch release bearing or the dual mass . Best get it checked out by an experienced mechanic. Plenty of Good Porsche independent garages. Good luck.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks. It’s booked into my Indy next week. the cars also started giving blue smoke to which looks like the AOS. Possibly related, not sure.
