Hi All, Our 1998 996 C4 has got an airbag light on. The Foxwell scanner shows a fault code of "87 - Side Airbag Sensor Passenger". I've trawled the internet and the only clue I can get is that it may be this sensor that has gone wrong: 99661822100 I am struggling to find where this may be located. I've seen this diagram: I've pulled the carpet and side trim off and looked around the seat belt reel but cannot see any sign of it. Any ideas where it might be please (or any other clues as to why the airbag light is on) ? Thanks.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

It will probably be a poor connection somewhere if nothing has deployed. Have you tried the one in the door and followed the wires all the way along? The seat belt tensioner in my car is connected in the rear quarter behind the front seat. Mine is a GT3 though so may be different to a standard 996. Pip
Found it ! Next to the passenger seat, under a plastic cover.
