Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Neat. I'm amazed the options don't look that bad and most of the money made is on the car itself. But I still can't understand why such things as Xenon lights'supposedly' cost Porsche $927 and most othermanufactures give them to you at this price level or its a $400 - $500 option.
Great info. Thanks.
Invoice is what it cost the dealer, not Porsche. I am sure Porsche's markup to the dealers, particularly on popularoptions like xenon's is significant. Am I correct?
Yes, I was thinking the same thing as sspender. These are dealer costs without any holdbacks or special incentives that may be available from the MFG to the dealer 'off the table'. It is veryuseful information, however, because it gives you some idea of what can be negotiated with the dealer. We're looking at a 12-13% mark up. This is interesting because it also shows you that unless the dealer has a lot of volume, the cost of running the dealership can really eat into the profit margin of each car if discounts are given too freely. It's also easy to see whydealers will discount more on floor cars because at some point the floor plan interest will really eat into the net on any given car. Finally thecars lightly optioned withthose most often requestedmakevirtally as much for the dealer as a'loaded' car andwill certainly be much easier to sell. The profit to Porsche still remains enormous and as they say, they sit down to eat first as well.
