Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Just got the call from the dealer. He said paint to sample will not start for another 2 or 3 months (or longer) . That means the best case senerio, I would be driving in about a year . That alsomeans I would get a 2006 Cayman S right when the 2007's are coming out Thats a long time. I still have a Nov production spot. Now to decide if I just want the save the $4k+ and get a standard color. Decisions, decisions. I had a Speed Yellow 993 and 996 before so that might be my first pick. I have to go check out some new Boxsters and their colors. I had a Black boxster before, but hated the upkeep to keep it looking pristine. Everyone and their mom are going to have the silver colors (no offence, I think they look good, just do not want to have what everyone else has) GRRRRR.

POST 2Original post

Well I thought I was just getting the ususal 'spiel' when my dealer (who I've known for 5-6 years and purchased my Boxster from) said my paint to sample (Riviera Blue) probably wouldn't be accepted and even then may take 6-8 months. I am happy with my white/black leather choice, but I am very unhappy with the lack of available options. There's a principle here, which is that if one orders a car and expects to pay full (or very nearly full) MRSP one should be able to choose from among all options offered in the Order Guide. I am very likely going to cancel my order. If I can't get what I want on order, I'm quite sure I can pick a white/black car off of somebody's lot at some point for substantially less money. It would seem thatthis business ofnumerous options choices fromPorsche is mostly BS. Many options are still unavaible from last year according to other postings from other boards. I think the Cayman will be a terrific car, but a premium price demands premium service and selection which just isn't the case. Edited by - DaveC on 08/31/2005 10:38:36 PM

Actually after reading everyones order.......Silver doesn'tseem to be as common on the Cayman compared tomost other Porsches.......in fact, it looks like Cayman ownersarevery diverse in their colors.....excellent!

POST 4Original post

I was just making a general comment. All my friends always get the silver or grey colors. Then when we go on drives in groups, that is the only colors you see (except for my Speed Yellow). I can never tell them apart when I'm blowing by them
