Hi, I have a C2 996 Coupe, which unfortunately doesn't get driven as much nowadays and after a recent outing i noticed a couple of issues, which may or may not be connected. 1. When starting the engine, the ignition doesn't return to its correct position and has to be positioned manually. 2. The interior lights stay on when driving and when the ignition is switched off they stay on for about 10 minutes. A bit of investigating suggests these issues could be related and its the ignition starter switch that needs replacing and as such i should be grateful for any opinions/advice. Thanks, Darren

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi Darren Odds on faulty ignition switch which is a very easy DIY job, it's an Audi part and should cost about £20 from any gsf or euro part shop. See link for further info https://www.porscheclubgb.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=949957&high=Ignition+switch Good luck Regards Andy
