Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello all, I am in need of a tow hook. Seems the Porsche one is $100 cdn, which i refuse to pay. I have been searching to see if the hook is shared on other non-Porsche cars, but no luck. I just need one to tie down kayaks on the roof. I would prefer a non-floppy type. Now I know I am gping to get suggestions to ebay or amazon or the wreckers. Getting it from any of them is $100 cdn. That is stupid to just have a hook to tie down a kayak. i am asking if there are cheap alternatives for what I need. Suggestions?

POST 2Original post

I suppose you could screw in a large bolt instead

POST 3Original post

If you just want a non-folding tow hook, what is wrong with the (free) one in the tool kit ??

You would have to remove the license plate to attach the rear one. Take off one bumperette and tie off on that bracket.

Yes, I think this is what I will do. Get an M18 x 2.5 eye bolt. Best solution.

I don't have the bumperettes, so all good there. Plate doesn't cover the hole either, so I'm good. I will go with a member's suggestion and get an eye bolt. Will do the job nicely.
