Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anybody got one? They are as rare as unicorns right now. If you know where one is hiding, let me know.

POST 2Original post

Now, I'm confused . . . are you looking for a 996 tub or a blown engine?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Have an engine, need a car. Sorry for the confusion. A rough driver is OK too. I wrecked my race car and need to re tub it this summer.

POST 4Original post

I have a 2001 Coupe with no engine if you're interested. 100% complete car less engine. Has a tiptronic trans.

POST 6Original post

May I impose, and ask what the going price is for a 996 with blown engine would go for? Thanking you in advance, Bruce

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Bruce, I haven't uncovered many to date, so pricing is a tough call. I'm looking for something in the 7000-7500 range, but would go more depending on the car. Installing an undocumented engine would cost the average person 5-6 grand, and a new reman is in the 13-15 range. With today's values on 99's I think I'm in the ballpark, if not a little high.

POST 8Original post

I think I saw a race-prepped tub on the RA men's bathroom wall last weekend (mitty) for $25k. It was near a GT3 Cup motor going for $12k (32 hours). Of course, since I neglected to get the information, this doesn't help you in the least . . .
