Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Please tell me this is not a fake exhaust noise button ??!!!

POST 2Original post

It might be the valve that goes from silenced to straight through, for a bit of extra sporty growl but I honestly have no idea, never owned a Cayman.

POST 5Original post

From the trim I'm guessing that is a 981 Cayman? As said above, it opens the exhaust valves, bypassing some of the silencing. They still close at certain rpm ranges, but there's always a fix for that... Here's a pic of the same valves on my 982. Collars to prevent them fully closing at any rpm.
