Hello, Question about the alarm sirens on 996s. The siren in my 2004 car is part number 996.618.237.03. I want to get a replacement siren, but the part numbers that I am finding are 996.618.237.01. Both appear to have the same casings. So, I need to establish if part number .03 is the same as part number .01. Any ideas please? Thank you, Peter

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The last two digits are the revision number, so a 996.618.237.01 will be interchangeable with 996.618.237.03. The latest revision is 996.618.237.05, and they are £283.49+VAT from a Porsche Centre.
Brilliant, thank you. Peter
Further to this: I can get a .03 numbered unit to chrip once. I can't get any chrip at all from a .01 numbered unit. So, does anyone have the alarm wiring diagram please? Car is a 2004 Turbo. This will help me to figure out if it's the input to the siren or if it is the siren itself. Thank you! Peter
If you mean the chirp you get when locking the car with a compartment open, I think the chirp should be coming from the alarm horn, not the alarm siren. Drop me a PM with your email address, and I'll send you the wiring diagram when I get to my PC in the morning.
