Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hey folks, the 996 turbos are approaching some pretty good prices. you can pick up one for 40k with <50,000 miles. are there any known problems with these cars? they are just as cheap as a C4S of the same year. why the cheap price? david

POST 2Original post

I have my eye on some in So Cal, private sellers are as low as 34K, but are they worth it. Many of these cars are in bad condition, repairs could start as low as 3K. Good luck in your search.

POST 3Original post

They are very nice cars. The economy has decimated the used car prices for most cars. IMO the turbo is a much better car than the C4S. The car weighs allot and need the power of the turbo motor to make it fun to drive. Turbo's have are generally more expensive to fix and maintain. Keep this in mind.

Yea, I'm checking out an 02 today with 28k miles. Kevin
