Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I found a 2000 PORSCHE 911 CARRERA2 in good shape and affordable, but it has 82K miles. I drive to and from work which is about 30 mile round trip, but I'd also like to take in on the track from time-to-time. Is this model reliable with high miles and will serve me well as an everyday driver?

POST 2Original post

I have a 99 C4 and with 90K miles and it's absolutely a great daily driver (50 miles per day).

POST 3Original post

996's are the perfect car for pulling double duty. It has air-conditioning, comfortable seats, handles traffic well (especially if it's a tip) and can easily be driven to work. Then on the weekend, you can take it to the track. No problems driving it everyday.

POST 4Original post

I have a 2002 996 and I've put about 20k on it in 18 months. A great car for everyday use!

POST 5Original post

I have a 2000 996 Cab, I don't use it as a daily driver but I would not be afraid to, lots of people daily drive 996s.

POST 6Original post

I had a boxster for a spell and it was a great DD. A 996 can only be better

POST 7Original post

I've had my 2000 996 C2 for just over two years and it has served me well as my daily driver since day one. I've driven it over 30,000 miles and the only problem I've had is with the alternator, which can happen to any car, any time. The car has also been to the track at least six times (maybe more - I've lost count) and put in over 100 hard track miles each time, with absolute reliability. The answer is yes.

POST 8Original post

I have had my 2001 cabriolet for over a year now and not had any problems with it being a daily driver. I travel about 40 miles round trip. Been through a set of rear tires though... See other message.

POST 9Original post

Use mine every day to go back and forth to work. My work day starts out with a smile and ends with one too. What more could you ask for?

POST 10Original post

I bought mine back in April with 79k and now it has almost 95k. It is a fantastic daily driver that has never let me down. You will love it.
