Hi guys. I have a 2000S that I bought with 60K miles on it. Is there a way to tell if the engine has had the IMS upgrade done without dropping the tranny? Any info would be appreciated. Todd.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

if it was done by jake, there would be a sticker on the driver's door jam, other than that - i do not believe so. you might try contacting ln engineering. i don't know if they keep any records by VIN or owner's name. how long have you owned it?
No. If the seller didn't mention a IMS upgrade & show a receipt to calaborate the claim I would bet it has not been upgraded.
I spoke the Charles Navarro when I bought my IMS retrofit. He said that at the time (about 2 months ago) that about 1000 had been installed, so it would be VERY unlikely that your car has had one. If it had been replaced with a Porsche IMS, consider it still 100% at risk.
Thanks guys. I spoke with Jake and Charles and they stated the same. Thanks again, Todd.
