Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Which country are you in and what year and model is the 996?
I'm in So Cal, (orange county area) and have a 2001 cab Carrera 2.
Call the local to you dealer or shop and compare what they do. Prices vary over the country so much that what someone pays in one state is different to another. If it's the first time the spark plugs have been changed, may need spark plug tubes and o-rings if they are leaking. Brake fluid change should be done, fuel filter and alternator belt are also on the 60K service list.
